Upcoming Events
A six-week Bible Study called "40 Days in the Word" will begin on April 19th. The Book of James reminds us to not just hear the word but to do what it says. Join us each Wednesday for this time of study and fellowship with your church family.
Starting on April 23rd, Rev. Galley will be leading an adult membership class for adults wishing to join the church or for those who would simply like to review information about the church. The class will be held in the Social Rooms at 9:30 am. (Please note that Rev. Rod will be teaching the Biram Crossroads adult class while Rev. Galley teaches the membershp class.)
VPC has Sunday School classes for kids of all ages and for adults as well. The adult class led by Bev Pounds is in the Christian Education building, upstairs - in the first room to the left. The Biram class led by Rev. Rod meets in the Christian Education Building's "Lounge."
The annual Rummage Sale will be held on Saturday, May 6th, in the social rooms. Items acceptable for donation are: small (working!) appliances (NO TVs!), towels, sheets, blankets, pillows, clothing for adults/teens/children/babies, shoes, coats sweaters, shorts, jeans, pants, dishes, glasses, cookware, table cloths, place mats, curtains, jewelry, books and knick knacks. The May 6th schedule will be: sale from 8 am - 3 pm; 30 minute break at 11:30; Bag sale 12 - 3pm.
Judy Rager is continuing her popular folk painting class upstairs in the Christian Education Rooms on the 2nd Thursday of every month (from 6-9 pm). The cost is $20 per class. Everyone is welcome (i.e. no age limit!). Proceeds beyond expenses will support local mission causes in the church. Contact Judy at 724-331-9818 to register.
On the last Sunday of every month (directly after the Worship Service), in the Social Room downstairs, Rev. Rod will lead a "discussion group" that will be focused upon denominational issues. This is an oppuntunity both to learn and to ask questions. A special lunch will be served!
Past Events
Kid's Praise, VPC's after-school program open to all community kids who fall into the K throuogh 6th grade and beyond category, ended its "season" with a special performance by magician Jeff and by viewing a movie. The kids also sang their favorite songs and had dinner together. To see photos of the final event Kid's Praise meeting and for a printable version, click here.
Ongoing Events
Everyone is encouraged to remember VPC's ongoing projects: (1) Shepherd's Heart - warm blankets, hats/caps, gloves and scarves are still needed; (2) Helping Hand Fund - donations are always welcomed so we can help our members in times of need; (3) Food Bank - non-perishable food and paper products are needed and can be brought to the church at any time; (4) Reach out to our shut-ins (see the list on the bulletin board by the chair section entrance).
Each week, everyone is asked to pray for and reach out in some meaningful way to the family or individual whose name appears in bold print in the Sunday bulletin. This is a way to show God's love. (If you have any questions, please see Debbie Beatty or call the church office at 724-568-2917.) This ministry will continue through May (excluding holidays).
People at VPC are wearing the "one with them" wristbands to show solidarity with their brothers and sisters in Christ who share their faith but not their freedom. Everyone is encouraged to pray for our fellow Christians who are being persecuted. Some may prefer to pray in the privacy of their homes. Others may prefer to go to icommittopray.com - an online place to gather and pray for the persecuted church. It doesn't matter where you pray . . just that you do.
