Senior Choir
According to choir member, Ruth Pisarcik, "Music is one of the ways we praise God. We try to present music as an offering to Him and also as a way to help our congregation open their hearts to the Holy Spirit. Our contribution to the worship service is to draw folks into a relationship with God that allows Him to speak to them on a different level than words alone." Anyone interesting in joining the choir should attend the Wednesday night practice at 7 pm.

The Vandergrift Presbyterian Church English Handbell Choir has been ringing continuously since 1978. The original choir was started in the late 1960s by Rev. Rodney Murray under the direction of Tom Schaffer. The bells were silent for about a decade until the current choir began ringing under the direction of Kathy Starr.

The choir rings at least twice monthly at worship services and more often during the Christmas season. The choir also occasionally rings for special services and community events. The learning technique is quite simple and all choir members enjoy the fun and camaraderie as they "make a joyful noise unto the Lord."

The choir encourages anyone who has in interest in ringing bells to "come out and join us." (Practice is Tuesday at 7:30 pm - Sepember through May)
